Good-To-Great Relationships: Likes and Dislikes

Leadership is a relationship, says Jim Kouzes, bestselling author of the book, The Leadership Challenge. Relationships, whether good or bad, are at the core of everything we do.

Good-to-great relationships are filled with love, forgiveness, respect, and of course, boundaries (a topic for another day). In good-to-great relationships, each party understands the other person—likes and dislikes—and will do what is in the best interest of the relationship. Oftentimes, they never have to ask, “Is everything OK?” That’s leadership.

What about you?

Do you understand the people—likes and dislikes—in your sphere of influence? Do you create a comfortable atmosphere of love, forgiveness, respect and boundaries?
