Thanksgiving Wouldn't Be Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It’s an opportunity for me to spend quality time with my family and friends.

I also get the chance to relax. Of course, Thanksgiving wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without the turkey, dressing, cakes, pies, and the IRON BOWL.

What about you?

What is your favorite holiday and why?

  1. Christmas is my favorite holiday! It's one of the two holidays were we focus on the good Lord above and all his grace and mercy. Keeping in mind, that Jesus is the Reason for the Season. The Christmas Carols, Franchise Missionary Baptist Church Yuletide Season and the joy and happiness that so many people display at this time of the year. Last but not least, gatherings with family and friends and the sight of the excitement in the young children eyes of the anticipation of Santa's arrival with all sorts of gifts and toys!

  2. Thanksgiving is also my favorite time of the year. I like Christmas too but with Thanksgiving there is no pressure with gifts and giving. On Thanksgiving day we just relax and enjoy each other's company. I also have an opportunity to relax and enjoy a week off.

  3. I received a Thanksgiving card from Jean and Ben Collins, my sister's parent in-laws the day the died as they crossed the street after their morning walk. They were 85 and 92 and married for 66 years. Her card said Give Thanks. We had had a family time in Texas at a wedding 2 weeks ago. She talked of the joyous time with all. Then she wrote, I am reminded Ps. 38:3 give thanks......Thanksgiving has a new meaning for me. They were a special couple who gave thanks all the time.
