Enthusiasm

Enthusiasm for the work that you do is vital if you want have a successful career in anything. There is nothing in the world like having a job that you really and truly love. When I was in banking and was an underwriter, I could not wait until Friday. I wanted to get out of there. Conversely, I absolutely love the work that I do now. For example, recently I had a workshop that began at 10 o'clock in the morning and concluded at 2:00 PM in the afternoon. After the workshop, I had a 3:00 PM meeting. Keep in mind, I am an introvert, so up to that point I had been around people all day and that typically saps my energy at some point. When the meeting concluded at 4:00 PM, I immediately got in the car and drove to Birmingham, Alabama which is about 2 1/2 hours away. I enjoyed the drive immensely. All I could think about was how great that morning's workshop had been. I was on cloud nine. I even had a hard time sleeping that night. This is precisely why I harp on self-awareness and everyone of our workshops. I want everyone to enjoy what they do for a living. Yes, enthusiasm for the work that you do makes all the difference. What about you? Do you have enthusiasm for the work that you do?
