Healing the Wounds of the Past
I watched Oprah's Lifeclass: the Tour the other night on television. The topic for discussion was forgiveness.
I took a special interest in it. As I mentioned in a previous post, forgiveness is a subject I plan on writing a lot about in 2012.
Oprah said one of her favorite quotes is by Izyanla Vanzant, "Until you learn to heal the wounds of the past, you will continue to bleed into the future."
Un-forgiveness is the cancer of the soul. It eats away at you. It makes your life miserable as well as those around you. It brings out the hate in even the noblest of people.
And get this. The person you have a problem with may not even know it. So, of the two, which one is more apt to suffer from high blood pressure, high stress, and a downright discontent with life?
