Research shows that if you are in a position of power it lessens your ability to be in harmony with your employees. The people you have been entrusted to lead believe you do not understand what is in their hearts. Therefore, providing you, the leader, with a false sense of reality in what it is really like to report to you.
One way to correct this perception is to surround yourself with people who will tell you the truth about what they think. In other words, get rid of your “yes” men and women and be willing to listen to a contrarian point of view.
