Desire: 2 Things to Remember

As I posted on iLead2Serve on February 13, Napoleon Hill wrote, “Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything.”

However, there are two important points to remember about desire.

1. Make sure it is your desire. Too many times when nearing the midpoint of their lives, people begin to realize that the dream that they have been chasing was actually the dream of mama and daddy or someone else close to them. As Stephen Covey says, “You don’t want to climb the ladder of success only to find it is against the wrong wall.”

2. How bad do you want it? It takes mounds of effort to turn your dreams into a reality. So, whatever you want out of life, I have one question for you. How bad do you want it?

What is your desire? What is it that will make you stand boldly and firmly, crying out, “This I will have – it is my destiny, and I am going to possess it!” – Robert Collier – Secret of the Ages
