A Wonderful Surprise

I spent time in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania this week, which is a suburb of Philadelphia. On Tuesday, I had lunch with my good friend, Jim Emrich. Jim is the founder of Servant Leader Associates.

After our meal, Jim took me across the street. He wanted to show me something. When we arrived, all I saw was an old building with the paint peeling off the sides.

He asked me if I knew where we were. I said no. Jim then pointed to a historic marker (see close-up below) and told me to read it; and I did. What a wonderful surprise.

We were standing outside what used to be known as Crozer Seminary. The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. received his Bachelor of Divinity from Crozer in 1951.

Thank you, Jim.
