Count It All Joy

James 1:2 "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials…” - New King James Version Bible

I used to be the type of person that whenever I had a trial I immediately thought that the sky was falling. But I am learning to be joyous during the storms of life. I'm not saying it is easy--just a part of my journey.

When I think back on my life and tribulations that I went through, I realize that not long afterwards, good things happened to me.

For instance, I was a struggling underwriter in banking. I knew it was not the job for me. I knew deep in my heart that there was something out there much better for me where I could utilize my God-given talents. Now I am the Director of the Center for Servant Leadership, a division of the Pastoral Institute, and I am so happy.

When you face challenging times, "count it all joy." Be consciously aware of what is happening to you, learn from it, and know that one day your trials will be used to make you stronger and mankind better.
