What Motivates You?

I have always been interested in motivation. I like to know what motivates people who achieve greatness.

According to Wordnetweb.princeton, the definition of motivation is the psychological feature that arouses an organism to action toward a desired goal; the reason for the action; that which gives purpose and direction to behavior.

Some people are motivated intrinsically and others are motivated extrinsically, and there are times when it depends on the task at hand.

Carol Bainbridge of writes, “Intrinsic motivation refers to motivation that comes from inside an individual…The motivation comes from the pleasure one gets from the task itself or from the sense of satisfaction in completing or even working on a task.”

I am intrinsically motivated when I write this blog, give a keynote speech, and/or conduct a workshop. Of all my responsibilities, I enjoy these three the most.

What about you? What intrinsically motivates you?
