Making Wise Use of My Time

When I was in elementary school, I was notorious for making N’s on my report card. An N meant “not using my time wisely (or something like that).”

My teachers routinely disciplined me for talking too much. I think they would be proud of me now because as an adult I can truly say that I use my time wisely.

For example, yesterday morning, I arrived at the Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro North Carolina, at 8:20 for a 9:45 a.m. flight to Atlanta.

However, the flight was delayed twice and the plane didn’t take off until much later. During that time, I made numerous work phone calls, checked emails, read, pre-planned next week and brainstormed. Time went by fast.

As I write this blog, I can’t help but think of that little kid who attended Sherwood and Westview Elementary Schools.

It seems like only yesterday but it’s not.
