"Today I Worked Based on Feel"

Today, for the first time since I don’t know when, I worked without using a To Do List. For those of you who know me well or have participated in one our Emergenetics™ workshops, you know that I have a strong preference for Structural Thinking.

I have been known to be systematic and predictable. However, today was different for me. I didn’t feel like working with a To Do List.

Sometimes my To Do List just grows and grows and grows and looking at it agitates me, so today I worked based on feel. I emphasize “feel.” I periodically asked myself the question: What do I “feel” like doing right now? And whatever I felt like doing, I did.

Typically, when I have worked from a To Do List, I constantly watched the clock—trying to gauge the time it would take me to complete a task but I didn’t do that at all today, and time actually went by rather fast, and I also completed numerous tasks.

By the end of day, I still had a lot of energy left. This is important to note because in the past whenever I worked from a To Do List I was using one of my strengths; and when one works from their strengths, he or she doesn’t tire so easily.

I don’t know how long this is going to last, working without a To Do List, but I am going to try it again tomorrow. I will keep you posted.
