I Was Wrong: My Personality Hasn't Changed One Bit

On January 7, I posted that my personality had changed. It hasn’t.

You see, I am a Concrete Thinker (Emergenetics term). That means I am a structured and social person.

I like guidelines, agendas, procedures, but I am also sympathetic, empathetic, and love being around people (if you schedule an appointment with me ahead of time…lol)

The date of the post, as well as a couple of days, if not weeks, leading up to it, I was living in the Social quadrant of my brain. It was on the heels of the holiday season. I had taken 2 ½ weeks off and was just getting back into the swing of things at work.

When I was on vacation, although I lived on a schedule, I didn’t write things down. I kept them in my head.

I was much more freewheeling. I went to bed and slept late. So, the first couple of days back to work, I was still a little sluggish.

What am I trying to say? I am back to making lists and timelines. I guess I should have known better. It takes anywhere from 21-66 days to change your personality, and my time off was less than three weeks.

What does this have to do with leadership? Everything!

Your personality strongly influences your leadership style. Therefore, if do not know yourself, you will never be able to effective lead others.
