What A Difference A Weekend Makes

Yesterday after work, I dropped by one of the local five and dimes to pick up a few items. This particular store is also one of my favorites and it, too, is relatively new.

I’ve gotten to know several of the clerks on a first named basis. That is why I was shocked to hear one clerk say such awful things about her employer.

When I was ready to check out, she asked me how I was doing. I told her everything was great. However, as I looked into her eyes, I could tell something was wrong and it was precisely at that moment that she told one of her co-workers how much she hated working at the store. She went on to ask me and two other customers if our organizations were hiring.

Needless to say, I felt bad about her situation. I always feel bad when someone hates their job. I walked to my car and couldn’t help but feel sorry for her. I was also grateful to work in a positive environment.
